In a move that pairs financial support with a clear warning, the United States has vowed $2 billion for United Nations humanitarian operations. However, this funding came with a stark message for the global organization: it must "adapt or die."

A Major Announcement Amid Broader Budget Reductions

This commitment was made during a time of substantial reductions in US funding for global aid. Further cuts are also anticipated from other key donors such as Britain and Germany. The US representative, President Trump's Under Secretary for Foreign Assistance, delivered the statement together with the United Nations' emergency relief chief.
